Le Terrier / The Foxhole

Florencia Demestri and Samuel Lefeuvre

What if theatre, this tool-space for creating fiction, was only waiting for the arrival of a spectator to swallow up and shape as it pleases? What if this “black box” could take on a bodily form and life, show free will and desire, what stories would it tell?

Starting from this simple yet unlikely scenario, Florencia Demestri and Samuel Lefeuvre have created their second co-written piece, situated between dance and theatre: a plunge into the abyss of a burrow, where it is more a question of visions/sensations than narration. A poem of sinuous paths seeking to distort our perception of bodies, space and time.

After  dancing  for choreographers  such as Alain Platel  and David Zambrano, and  being part of different collectives  (Peeping Tom, groupe ENTORSE) they now  collaborate together to create hybrid choreographic  works with a focus on bending the audience’s perception  of reality. Through the use of disruptive narrative and intense,  twisted physicality, they invite the spectator to give in to a multiple  and intuitive interpretation of the occuring events, favouring sensations over  meaning. Since 2012, they created together the solos monoLOG and OLGA, the duet  L’Événement, and developped the show Hantologie in collaboration with groupe ENTORSE,  as well as NERF with the korean company LDP. Since August 2017, Florencia Demestri and  Samuel Lefeuvre are in Research Residency in L’L (BE).

A  multidisciplinary  artist born in Argentina,  Florencia Demestri lives in  Brussels since 2003, and works  with different contemporary dance  companies : Les Ballets C. de la  B. (Lisi Estaràs), Michèle Anne De Mey,  Roberto Olivan, Finger Six collective, David  Zambrano, Peeping Tom (Gabriela Carrizo), groupe  ENTORSE and recently with Karine Ponties. Parallel  to her work as an interpreter, she developped her own  projects in collaboration with dancers and choreographers  Claudio Stellato, Piergiorgio Milano, and Peter Jasko & Simon  Thierrée.
